An Open Letter to Ringo
 by Jude Kessler, Beatles Author
Dear Ring, Just wanted to take a few moments at the beginning of this year to let you know that despite the venom and criticism hurled by a few very vocal and bitter wacks out there, there are still plenty of us fans who love you, miss you, and wish you real joy. You have had to put up with more than any human should have to endure. But please also know that you are loved more than most.

I love Ringo and I'm only 16. I saw him in concert once when I was 13 and it was the best day of my life. A while later I wrote him and told him how much I loved him and he sent me his autograph which I will NEVER sell. It is hanging still in my bedroom and I thank Ringo for making me so happy and being such a cool person. Posted by Hippie Chick from Leslie MI on January 12, 2009 1:45 PM
Chin up Ritchie! Remember for each disgruntled voice there are many thousands of true fans, a silent majority who appreciate you from their own private space without making demands or taking advantage. In over 40 years as a fan and hobbyist I had never written a fan letter but my thoughts are often with you guys who have given us so much joy through the years. All the best for 2009 ! Ringo...without your inventive drumming and fun-loving personality, the world would definately be a drearier place. I think you are totally fab. Everyone has a moment when they've had enough of whatever it is that is going on around them. Bless you and thank you for all the time, love, and support you have given over the years. You are, and forever will be, a great person. love always, Ron Posted by Ron Baker from Mason, WV on January 12, 2009 2:11 PM
Ringo/Richard, My sister was into The Beatles. At the time, I was into The Monkees. Grabbed ahold of the Beatles around the time of the American "Yesterday and Today" LP. Been a big fan ever since. As a drummer who has spent a lot of time on the road and in smokey bars, it was your drumming (along with Gene Krupa and Keith Moon) who made me want to play. I learned how to play a groove listening to, and playing along with, Beatles and Ringo LP's. Thanks for the free lessons.

I've loved The Beatles since they were around as a group, I learned English with their songs, my life have been enlightened by their presence in this world. I saw Ringo in person from the distance when he came to Concord, California in 2001 with his All Stars, and I felt more than happy with that.
Please Ringo, not all of us are jerks, most of us love you and are appreciative with you for all the love you have given to all of us, we would love to see you and know that you're doing great through your website. Here from John to you:
Dear Ringo Want you come out to play? dear Ringo see the brand new day.
The sun is up, the sky is blue is beautiful, and so are you, dear Ringo Want you come out to play?
Love,

My Dearest Ringo, You are appreciated more than you know. Peace & Love. Peace & Love. Posted by Kelli Wolcoski from Alberta, Canada on January 12, 2009 7:19 PM
The Beatles broke up the year I was born. In addition to the great music one of the main reasons why people love and adore The Beatles is because they are genuine people. I once asked a freind of mine who grew up in the 60's who his favorite Beatle was. He said "Neither. I like all 4 of them together. That's when they are at their best." Ringo and all The Beatles have brought us all much love....And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make. Posted by George Anderson from Enfield CT on January 12, 2009 7:36 PM
