Keeping the faith and believing in the Beatles
 by Sharyn Hermann
It all began when I was 14. I was in the car with my older teenage brother and his girlfriend, when suddenly this group came on the radio... The first year of The Beatles tour, my friends and I begged our parents to let us go to Jacksonville, Florida to see the boys perform. We saw them again in Atlanta. I remember crying through the whole concert.

I sold my albums to John's friends because I didn't have a record players anymore. But I got my CD's of all of The Beatles stuff. I don't have all of Paul, George, or John's single stuff.
I was never that religious that I ever gave any thoughts of burning anything and wasn't going to temple or church at the time.

I've been there. I've left many a church for the same reason. When John's Jesus comment came out, it tore my family apart. But I NEVER let it get to me. If something doesn't feel right in your heart, DON'T DO IT. Posted by josette key from cookeville, tennessee on July 19, 2009 2:19 PM
Very good article Sharyn. Thank you for sharing your memories of the Beatles. I really wish I lived back at that time (I'm a 2nd generation Beatlemaniac) in the 1960s to enjoy the Fabs in person. It's a shame you got rid of all your Beatles memoribilia. I'm a born again Christian (as best as I can be), but still love the Beatles and luckily never got into a cult like church. Once again, thanks for sharing Beatle buddy! :) Posted by Frank from Boston, MA on July 21, 2009 7:12 PM
